Comments are for questions, corrections and thoughtful discussion of the article. You do not need an account or email address.
When your comment appears
Ordinary comments appear immediately after submission. We may hide comments containing abuse, spam, unrelated promotions or private personal information. A published comment is not endorsed by Patchlo. Removal requests are handled privately.
What we store
We store your display name, message, article path, submission time, moderation status and a random submission identifier in Cloudflare D1. Approved names, messages and dates are public. Pending and hidden comments are not returned by the public comments API.
To limit repeated submissions, the service processes the connecting IP address and stores a daily changing hash in a separate rate-limit table, not the raw IP in comment records. Old rate-limit entries are removed during subsequent submissions after two days. Cloudflare may separately process network information to operate and secure the service. We do not request email addresses or add advertising cookies through this comment feature.
Removal requests
To request removal, submit a comment on the same article beginning with “Removal request”, identifying the display name, approximate date and comment text. Removal requests enter the private moderation queue and will not be published. Do not post sensitive information in a public comment. Comments remain stored until removed by the site operator. We may ask for additional verification before acting on a request about another person’s comment.
