Arkham Knight Batmobile Missing: What an Older Backup Can Recover

PC players have documented loading an older Arkham Knight backup when the Batmobile cannot be summoned.

Short answer

PC players have documented loading an older Arkham Knight backup when the Batmobile cannot be summoned. A rollback can restore an earlier playable state, but it also discards the progress made after that backup.

Scope: PC backup access documented by players; the hanging-Batmobile report does not establish one cause for all summon failures.

The reported loss was progress, not just a vehicle icon

One player described saving after the Batmobile hung in place, then finding it gone and unable to be summoned. Returning to an older backup reportedly moved completion from 99% to 81% and cost about three hours. Those are that player’s figures, not a standard rollback cost.

A separate Steam thread about a Drain Pain problem documents the PC backup-selection mechanism. It supports how an earlier save can be accessed; it does not prove the same underlying fault caused the hanging vehicle.

Preserve the current state before choosing an older one

PC community instructions describe holding the minus key to display backup information and using the equals key to select an earlier backup. Follow the linked thread for the particular PC procedure; unverified controller equivalents are not supplied here.

  1. Copy the existing save files before loading a replacement.
  2. Check the backup’s date and completion against the last state in which the Batmobile worked.
  3. Load the older state and check the vehicle before continuing or overwriting another backup.

A rollback is not a patch

An earlier save avoids whatever state was stored later; it does not demonstrate a repair to that later file. The checked reports do not identify a final patch that resolves every missing-Batmobile case. A summon failure alone also does not prove that the vehicle is permanently lost.
