Short answer

Jagex’s Dragonwilds 1.0.1.2 notes, dated October 23, 2026, list a fix for the Air Staff’s fourth attack dealing no damage and failing to trigger on-hit effects. Dedicated servers need a restart to apply the update.

Scope: The specific fourth-Air-Staff-attack issue addressed by 1.0.1.2. Other staff, aiming or all-zero-damage reports are separate cases.

The first three attacks landed; the fourth did not

The player report describes a Light staff in Fellhollow: three attacks connected, the fourth showed no damage and the enemy could retaliate. Other replies describe a similar pattern. That is a more specific symptom than “staff damage feels wrong.”

Jagex’s fix note addresses the fourth Air Staff attack and missing on-hit effects. It gives an official correction to compare with the report without needing to invent recovery-frame, cooldown or stagger calculations.

What to check after updating

The relevant build is 1.0.1.2 or a later build containing its correction, not necessarily exactly that number forever. For dedicated play, the server restart is part of applying the update.

  1. Check the installed client build.
  2. For a dedicated server, confirm that it has restarted for the update.
  3. Repeat the same attack sequence and note whether the fourth hit and on-hit effects register.
  4. If the failure remains, record build, platform, weapon and target for a report.

Do not merge different damage failures

A report that every attack does zero damage is not automatically this four-hit sequence. Neither is a vertical-aiming problem. The official entry establishes the intended fix for its named symptom; it does not prove every later combat failure has been repaired. Earlier news headings are not used here as evidence that Jagex had already confirmed this exact cause before the fix note.
