Short answer
Polygon’s November 2012 report documented Vita players unable to reload their progress from the Animus screen. Ubisoft’s forum response asked affected players to contact support; that report does not establish a final repair version.
Scope: Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation on PlayStation Vita in 2012. Later HD and Remastered editions require separate evidence.

The first response was to collect affected cases
On November 8, 2012, Alexa Ray Corriea reported players becoming trapped in Animus loading and described corrupted saves. Polygon cited Ubisoft forum manager Mr_Shade asking users to contact support so details could reach the development team. The article was not a completed repair notice.
Identify the failed reload, not an invented trigger
The useful distinction is between restarting the application and recovering the progress it is trying to load.
- Record that the affected edition is the original Vita release.
- Record whether the game reaches its menu but loading the existing save stays in the Animus.
- Keep any earlier backup separate before attempting another restore or reinstall.
The checked source does not establish a universal sequence involving interruption during a save. Nor does a restart, by itself, demonstrate that the stored progress has become usable again.
What the player could lose
The problem described was access to the campaign already saved, rather than merely waiting through a long animation. Starting another campaign and reaching the opening area would not prove that the older progress had been recovered. Preserve the affected file and any distinct earlier backup when seeking help.
Where the historical record ends
No final fix version was verified from this checked report. That is a limit of the evidence, not a claim that Ubisoft never fixed the issue. It is also not proof that the later HD and Remastered editions are affected—or immune. The 2012 request for support details therefore remains part of the launch history, rather than a confirmed repair procedure for a modern release.
