Short answer

Plum suggested loading an earlier save and approaching from a position leaving the scene’s walking path clear. This was a community response to a stuck character, not a developer-confirmed collision diagnosis.

Scope: Steam reports, September–October 2025. Exact affected build and final fix version were not established.

The character moved into a wall

Raspberry_Cubes reported that after the mother cutscene, the character moved one tile upward into a wall and could not leave. CometCrush replied that they also encountered it.

That is the symptom to compare. Corrupted video or a scene failing to play at all is a different report, even if both are called cutscene bugs.

The suggested retry

Plum proposed changing the approach to leave space for the movement at the end.

  1. Keep the affected file if a separate backup is available.
  2. Load a save from before the scene.
  3. Approach with a clear route away from nearby objects.
  4. Let the scene finish and check whether movement returns.

Why this remains a suggestion

Plum described a returning walk animation failing to finish because an object was in the way. They introduced the approach-angle explanation as a belief.

The thread does not supply a measured trigger tile, confirmed engine function or universal route. There is no confirmed direction that always works.

Replayed progress is not a proven destroyed profile

An earlier save may allow another attempt from a different position, at the cost of progress since that save. The record does not quantify the loss.

It does not identify a final developer fix or show that a stuck character means the entire profile is corrupted. Record the approach and position if another attempt fails.
