Why Can’t Gau Learn Allo Ver, Chupon and Siegfried Rages in Original FF6?

The community patch changes what can appear on the Veldt; extra grinding alone does not apply it.

Short answer

RPG Legion’s Rage Patch documentation identifies Allo Ver, Chupon and Siegfried as three Rages unavailable in normal original-game play. Repeating the relevant battles on an unmodified game is not the same as installing the author’s patch that makes those encounters available on the Veldt.

Separate original behavior from patched instructions

The patch author explains what changes after installation: beating Allo Ver in the Veldt cave allows it to appear on the Veldt. Fighting Chupon or Siegfried at the Coliseum, win or lose, makes them appear there too. These are instructions for the modified program.

What the changed version allows

The distinction prevents a wasted loop of returning to the Veldt expecting unmodified encounters to behave like the patch description.

  1. Establish whether the game is original or has this community Rage Patch.
  2. In the patched version, defeat Allo Ver in the Veldt cave.
  3. For Chupon or Siegfried in that version, fight them at the Coliseum; the author accepts either result.
  4. The patched encounters can then appear on the Veldt.

Pugs remains a separate limit

The author explicitly says this patch does not let the player use the Pugs Rage. It is not a blanket unlock for every missing entry. Its published byte changes document a community modification; they do not prove that every later port uses the same availability rules.
