Pacific Drive Dead-End Junction: A Failed Run Is Not a Broken Save

Short answer

In the May 2024 thread, the player corrected their bug suspicion: the warned dead-end junction offered no normal gateway out. Replies pointed to abandoning the run and returning to the garage. Costs depend on settings, rather than proving a permanent softlock.

Scope: May 2024 community account. Check specific current difficulty options in the installed build.

The warning preceded the missing exit

Seven described entering a greyed-out junction for Olympium, then taking another route despite the ARC Device warning not to enter. The storm arrived with no portal available.

They initially asked whether this was a bug, then edited the post to call it a fail state not previously encountered. Keep that correction rather than circulating the original suspicion as fact.

The reported sequence

The important choice occurs before the apparent trap.

  1. Inspect the junction and warning on the route display.
  2. Enter despite the no-entry warning.
  3. Find no normal gateway as instability closes in.
  4. Use an available failed-run or abandon route rather than expecting more anchors to create an exit.

What the replies proposed

Foolexia and Cryten described returning to the garage by abandoning or failing the trip. They discussed loss settings, which change the trade-off. Do not promise all loot and car condition survive.

The concrete cost is the trip and its recoverable or lost resources, not automatically the whole campaign. The discussion does not supply a universal numerical loss percentage.

Why this is not a patch-fix checklist

This record does not identify a defect an update needed to remove. It documents a player changing their diagnosis after understanding the warning and failure options.

For a present-day run, inspect the options and warnings in the installed build. Every grey route, closed road and missing gateway should not be treated as the same condition.
