Short answer

Crisol’s official Patch 1.1 notes list a fix for the Sun lever disappearing when placed in the puzzle. Update before repeating the sequence; the notice does not promise that every already affected save will regain its missing lever.

Scope: February–March 2026 reports and Steam Patch 1.1. Console rollout timing should be checked separately.

The update comes before the old workaround

The March 4, 2026 Steam announcement explicitly lists the disappearing Sun lever among its fixes. It says the update was live on Steam and expected on consoles shortly afterward. That is a dated rollout statement, not evidence of identical build labels on every platform.

The notice establishes that a fix was released. It does not describe a save-repair procedure, so keep an earlier slot while checking an affected file after updating.

What players saw at Dolores’ tomb

Willybrasil reported placing one lever, seeing it disappear, then finding that the second item could not complete the puzzle. Other players described the Sun or fire item vanishing after its placement animation.

  1. Place the first lever at the tomb puzzle.
  2. Observe that its placed state does not remain as expected.
  3. Return with, or insert, the other lever.
  4. Find the puzzle still requesting the missing first item.

The February response was provisional

Developer dtornero acknowledged the bug and later warned against saving after solving the puzzle while the door-state issue was investigated. A later developer answer was marked as fixed.

One reply suggested inserting the sea lever first. Another player said reversing the order did not work for their save. Insertion order was a historical community suggestion, not a guaranteed substitute for the update.

A fix entry is not an inventory guarantee

After installing updates, check the actual puzzle and inventory state. If the old slot remains blocked, retain it alongside any pre-puzzle backup for support.

Neither the patch entry nor the thread justifies claiming every missing item is recreated automatically or every affected player must restart the chapter.
