Short answer

Noelle_Philip reported restoring the menu by opening a character through the initiative bar and closing that view. Saving and resuming returned their run to before the troublesome action. This is a player-reported workaround, not a verified universal fix.

Scope: April 2025 Steam sewer-combat report. Exact build and final official repair version were not established.

The missing enemy did not end the turn

The report describes a Severed Limb hostile being knocked back and disappearing while combat failed to accept the next input. The player was using 2x speed and the Weightless chapter factor.

Those are conditions observed together. The poster explicitly asked for further testing; neither speed nor Weightless was isolated as the necessary cause.

The reported route back to the menu

An interface action remained available when the normal menu would not open.

  1. Select a character through the initiative interface at the top.
  2. Close that view and check whether the menu returns.
  3. If it works, use the normal save-and-exit option.
  4. Resume and choose a different action from the restored turn.

What resuming did in this account

Noelle_Philip said the resumed battle returned to just before the action that stalled it. The benefit was another chance to choose a move rather than immediately abandoning the run.

The same post warns that repeating the action may produce another lock. It does not promise every frozen battle is recoverable or every save is undamaged.

Keep the other sewer report separate

A later reply describes a different Sewage Champion battle involving temporary transformations and a missing HUD. It also mentions the initiative interface, but the combat conditions differ.

Do not combine those accounts into a proven engine explanation. The checked thread supplies a practical lead and its limits, not a final official patch number.
