Oblivion Remastered Caught in the Hunt: The Aleron Lure-and-Yield Report
Xemawth reported completing the blocked sequence by leaving the third key, luring Aleron into the dungeon, collecting the key and yielding before returning outside. This June 2025 workaround does not guarantee every save or achievement outcome.
Short answer
Xemawth reported completing the blocked sequence by leaving the third key, luring Aleron into the dungeon, collecting the key and yielding before returning outside. This June 2025 workaround does not guarantee every save or achievement outcome.
Scope: Remastered PC report, June 2025. Original Oblivion patch numbers do not establish a Remastered fix.

The missed attack came before the lock
The player said the Orc’s attack missed Aleron, who ran into the dungeon. Dialogue continued, but normal controls were lost and the player could not pause.
The account describes a particular confrontation after collecting hunter keys. It does not establish that every unusual Aleron scene ruins the entire save.
The later workaround preserved the quest in this account
Keep an earlier slot before attempting a sequence that changes combat and quest state.
- Defeat the three hunters, leaving the third key behind.
- Return outside, draw Aleron’s aggression and lure him into the dungeon.
- Keep him alive while reaching and collecting the final key.
- Bring him back toward the entrance and yield.
- Follow him outside and check whether the confrontation completes.
The first escape had a different cost
Xemawth first reported escaping by killing Aleron, failing the quest and adding a murder. They then posted the lure-and-yield approach, reporting no quest failure and no console commands or mods.
Do not present those methods as interchangeable. Escaping the location can still change the quest and character record. The later correction is the important distinction.
Do not import the original game’s patch history
Some older quest guides document the original Oblivion. A version number for that game does not prove the same issue was fixed in Remastered.
The thread does not establish a final Remastered repair build. Its successful workaround belongs to a reported file, not an achievement guarantee or a required step for every player.
